I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming bout.
Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Difference
As the two fighters met for the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
